What is your website and/or facebook page?
How did you find out about CE Testing toys?
I made a doll carrier for my daughter and loads of ladies asked to make them one. I google legally sell toys and found out about CE marking. Spent a month researching and wrapping my head around it.
Did you have to alter your designs to fit the en71?
I didn’t have to alter my designs, but now I make sure I always use compliant materials and no small parts
What advice would you offer to makers that are new in the process of CE marking their own toy design?
Research CE marking carefully and fully understand the process before you start. Once you’ve tested your first toy, subsequent toys are much quicker. You would also be surprised at what is classed as a toy.
What are you plans for the future?
What do you enjoy most about what you make?
I love seeing the fabric combinations and the project come together at end
Did you encounter any CE marking blocks? (eg denial, material difficulty, money blocks, procrastination or others!) how did you get through them?
I researched for weeks trying to find en71-3 complaint buckles and webbing. In the end I tested my own
How can people buy from you?
What item/project are you most proud of?
Most proud of my doll carriers as they filled a gap in the market at the time.
Beautiful doll Carriers by Katie here! So nice I wouldn’t mind them full size! Pop by Katie Bear creates and give her some love!
